OSRS still has the ability to buy in-game gold through MTXs in the form of bonds, but they definitely don't irritate the players by trying to push MTX on your face as much as possible. That having been said, if you do not care about MTX (a growing majority of games appear to have them nowadays), then rs3 is usually a better match --it has far more information, more modern graphics, a combat system that arguably matches pvm better, and now they have just released a new RuneScape Gold   skill, so there's a great deal of action right now too. In that regard, you are going to have to create your own decision.

For PVM, I actually can't think about any MMO that does it better than RS3, if you don't specifically like raid-related content. For PVP, it's dead in RS3 out of warbands, and while OSRS PVP is marginally alive (wilderness in general is pretty dead), it is VERY unique and not something a new player would enjoy. OSRS thrives on nostalgia, but based on your wants, I'd say RS3 would be more preferable and in general very pleasurable for you.

In time I updated to the new normal colors and standard RS3 layout. At some stage I did some alterations to this design, to better fit my play style, and well, today it's evolved into MY design. Still a work in progress, because I will adjust it again once I go full guide, which leads me into the next stage.

I've had a few work-mates getting into OSRS gold mobile  for first time having seen me using a gander on some downtime, and I've basically said if you want the entire game experience, but with just a little bit of effort and long-term investment, then choose RS3. If you just want to mess about and whack things, choose OSRS. OSRS has a much greater community, also in short-bursts may be a lot of fun, but if you're searching for a game that'll do you nicely for the next few decades, take RS3.
